According to preliminary estimates, the main objectives of the international exhibition dedicated to the second anniversary of signing the Agreement on the Free Trade Area between the EEU and Vietnam, have been successfully achieved. Participation in the opening ceremony of the Vice Prime Minister of Vietnam, CHIN DIN ZUNG, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia A.V. GRUZDEV, Managing Director of JSC Russian Export Center K.N. EVSTYUKHIN, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vietnam VU TIEN LOC, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, HOANG QUOK VUONG, Ambassador of Russia in Vietnam K.V. VNUKOV, who read out a greeting from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, S.V. Lavrov, was an evidence of a high level of representation.

          Business attitude to the exhibition was set by the press conference held with the participation of the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, D.R. VARTANOV, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vietnam NGUEN TUAN HAY, Deputy Trade Representative of Russia A.N. KARDO-SYSOYEV, who detailed the forthcoming event to journalists of the leading South-East Asia media.

          Exposition of 137 exhibitors from 23 Russian regions (including participating in absentia) and Vietnam provinces were widely represented at the best Congress Center of the Vietnamese capital, MELIA HANOI. Joint innovative developments in the petrochemical and gas industry, energy, transport, telecommunications, agriculture, medicine, pharmaceutics, and education were reflected on the stands. According to the preliminary results, only on the sidelines of the exhibition 12 contracts and agreements on cooperation were signed by the participants of the exhibition, agreements were reached to continue business contacts and other specific results. For three days of work, the exhibition was visited by more than three thousand guests from Vietnam and Southeast Asian countries, representatives of the ministries accredited to Vietnam, employees of foreign embassies and trade missions. |

          The exhibition site hosted the Second Vietnam-Russia Business Forum, target meetings of delegations from Russian regions with Vietnamese partners. Of particular interest was the “Economic Cooperation with the Participation of the EEU Member States and Vietnam under Free Trade Conditions” workshop conducted by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia A.V. GRUZDEV with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam KAO KUOK HUNG and the Director of the Industrial Policy Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission A.E. KUDASOV, Trade Representative of Russia in Vietnam V.N. KHARINOV, Managing Director of the Russian Export Center K.N. EVSTYUKHIN. The workshop was moderated by VU TIEN LOC - President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Within the framework of this workshop, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Zarubezh-Expo and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vietnam, providing for the joint organization of exhibitions during the Cross Year of Russia and Vietnam in 2019 and subsequent exhibitions up to 2023. The “Export Supporting Tools of JSC Russian Export Center” workshop organized by the Managing Director for non-financial support of JSC REC K.N. EVSTYUKHIN was recognized as very useful. His informative report “Opportunities for the Advancement of Russian Medical Equipment and Services to the Vietnamese Market” was also highly appreciated at a round table on health issues. 

          Within the framework of the exhibition, thematic round tables were held on agriculture, transport, power industry, medicine, education, with participation of Vietnam business circles and ministries representatives.
The exhibition was held with the support of the Embassy and the Trade Mission of Russia in Vietnam, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Hanoi, the sectoral ministries of the Russian Federation and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam under the patronage of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vietnam took on the role of the Forum co-organizer.

          A distinctive feature of the EXPO-RUSSIA VIETNAM 2017 was the use by the participants of the unique opportunities provided by the Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation on granting subsidies from JSC Russian Export Center to finance part of the costs associated with promoting high-tech, innovative and other products and services to foreign markets, which allowed present 67 companies of this category at the exhibition in Hanoi. 

          The third international Russian-Vietnamese exhibition EXPO-RUSSIA VIETNAM is scheduled to be held in December 2019 within the framework of the cross year in one of the best exhibition centers in Vietnam.
