POST-EVENT PRESS RELEASE

The First Russian-Vietnamese Industrial Exhibition EXPO-RUSSIA VIETNAM 2015 took place from 14 to 16 December 2015 at Melia Hanoi Hotel, Hanoi City (the Socialist Republic of Vietnam). Members of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of constituent entities of the Russian Federation and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, heads of municipal entities, representatives of business community as well as diplomatic corps of the two countries participated in the solemn opening ceremony on December 14th.

The exhibition was organized by JSC Zarubezh-Expo. The event was held under the patronage of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and other branch departments of Russia as well as the Russian Embassy and the Trade Representative Agency in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The Russia-Vietnam Business Forum themed “Development of Economic Cooperation under Free Trade Conditions” and organized jointly with the Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held within the framework of the exhibition on December 14th. Speeches by representatives of the Governments and constituent entities of the two countries, presentations of Russian regions, their investment prospects, contact exchange, six themed roundtable discussions jointly with the branch ministries of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam were organized within the framework of the Forum.

The exhibition was held with a view of promoting further development and strengthening of trade and economic relations between Russia and Vietnam, diversifying the forms and directions of the Russia-Vietnam economic cooperation, extending cooperation in the social and humanitarian field as well as marketing export products of Russian enterprises and entities in South-East Asia. Export-oriented innovative products and services, advanced developments of enterprises, higher educational institutions and scientific organizations as well as investment projects of Russian regions were presented as part of the Russian exposition. The latest developments in the power industry, oil and gas industry, machine building, transport, communications and data transmission, mining industry, chemical industry, medicine, agriculture and other high-technology branches were presented. 

The following regions of the Russian Federation took part in the exposition: the Republic of Altai, the Republic of Tatarstan, Rostov, Samara, Voronezh, Kaluga, and Ulyanovsk Regions.

According to the organizers’ and exhibitors’ opinion, the events have achieved the desired goals. The Hanoi exhibition is supposed to become annual. Considering the economic and political importance of shaping the Eurasian Economic Union, the Organizing Committee recommends that participation in the exhibition held in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam should be included in the perspective work plans of regions and enterprises of the Russian Federation.
