A technological company in Iran enjoys 30 years of experience in supplying services to the companies which are active in the field of brine shrimp cultivation and has been able to produce different brine shrimp products such as Artemia (brine shrimp) cyst or eggs, decapsulated brine shrimp cysts, and brine shrimp biomass.

There is a growing market for fish and shrimp in Iran at the same time as the production and breeding of shrimp and fish in the country is increasing in recent years.

The technological company has focused on using new methods and technologies in response to the growing domestic need for the brine shrimps.

One of the most important water resources for brine shrimp cultivation is effluent from desalination plants.

Given the fact that there are lots of big desalination plants in the Southern and Southeastern parts of Iran that have already been used to meet water consumption in the mentioned areas through the desalination of the water in Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, huge effluents from those desalination plants could be used for raising brine shrimps.

Over the past years, the company has implemented research and semi-industrial projects for the production and harvesting of brine shrimp in the Southern and Southeastern provinces of Khuzestan, Bushehr, Hormozgan, Kerman, Fars, and East and West Azarbaijan.

The company's brine shrimp cultivation in wastewater from desalination plants is considered a green method as it prevents the reflow of the effluent to the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

Iran imports ninety percent of its need for brine shrimps from overseas at high prices each year; therefore, brine shrimp cultivation is a profitable business that can create jobs  for the youth in the country in addition to meeting all domestic needs for the development of the aquaculture industry.

The technological company seeks to increase its annual production to 50 tons of cysts, 200 tons of biomass of Artemia (brine shrimp) franciscana by building farms and ponds for breeding brine shrimps. In the first phase of this program, the firm has planned for the establishment of 300-hectare farms with 200-hectare ponds.
