The Federal State Budget Scientific Institute of Content and Teaching Methods receiving its funding through the science budget from the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
The Institute organizes and conducts scientific research in the field of education. The Institute's activities also include: testing the results of scientific research in schools, colleges, universities and organizations of additional education; postgraduate training; advanced training of teachers; organization of conferences, symposiums, seminars; development and examination of state educational standards; holding the All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren in all academic subjects.
The institute's staff includes Russian Academy of Education members, Doctors of Education, Doctors of Medicine, Doctors of Psychology and PhD members.
The Institute has a dissertation council for the defense of dissertations for the degrees of Doctor and Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences.
The Institute's researchers are textbook writers.
