TO PARTICIPANTS OF THE 5TH RUSSIAN EXHIBITION «EXPO-RUSSIA 2006»
I greet you in the capital of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on the occasion of holding of the 5th Russian exhibition «Expo-Russia 2006» and the conference timed to it, devoted to problems of restoration of economic relations withIraq.
The exhibition is carried out for the fifth time, thus becoming an annual review of samples of the Russian production in Middle East. It is a demonstration of the interest of Russia and the Arabian countries in expansion of traditional interaction in trade and economic area.
«Expo-Russia» contributes into the establishment of direct contacts between the Russian and Arabian businessmen, activization of trade and economic links between Russia and the Arabian countries, wider use of available opportunities. An appreciable role in this process is played by the chambers of commerce and industry of Russia and the Arabian countries and the Russian-Arabian Business Council established by them.
I wish the participants of the exhibition fruitful work and greater successes in achievement of the planned goals.

The Russian industrial exhibition “Expo-Russia” became the major instrument of development of trade and economic relations of Russia with Jordan, and with other Middle East countries.

I would like to use this opportunity to welcome 5 Annual Exhibition Expo-Russia 2006, which is taking place in Amman 14 – 16 March this year.
Five years have passed since the first annual exhibition, being held by Joint Stock Company “Zarubesh-Expo”, took place in Amman. During the passed years, thanks to the support of such esteemed organizations in Russia as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, same as the Arabian and Russian mass media and, especially, personal efforts of yourself and your associates, the Annual Exhibition Expo-Russia succeed to be a notable event in Jordan and in the region.
I wish to empbasize that the success was to a big extend determined by the right choice of the place of the Exhibition. No wonder, that Jordan is considered to be the gateway to the Middle East. The geographical location of the country, its political and economic stability, exclusive reliability of the bank sector, the Aqaba free economic zone – all these factors create a very favorable investment climate in Jordan and make the country very attractive for businessmen. A very high standart of Jordanian infrastructure and remarkable measure of peace and security encourage businessmen to invest into Jordanian economy and to set up their business here. The healthy environment and the touristic attractivity add to the advantageous points of the country.
On the eve of the event, I wish the utmost success to the exhibition, which, undoubtedly, will make significant contribution to further development of cooperation and strengthening of business relations between Russia and Jordan and all countries of the region in general.
