Dear organizers, participants and visitors!
I have the pleasure to welcome you to the 9th Russian industrial exhibition
“EXPO-RUSSIA JORDAN 2010”
in the capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan
The fact of holding this major Russian forum in Jordan shortly after the official visit of King Abdullah II to Moscow on March 10-12, 2010 is very noteworthy. The interrelation between nine visits of the Jordan leader to Russia and ten Russian exhibitions held in Jordan proves our countries’ earnest wish to enhance mutual cooperation and increase the volume of bilateral trade. As President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev said during the negotiations, "Our states have established strong ties of friendship”. In his turn the King of Jordan commented on the “special relationship” between our countries which is getting better and better and that we have made strides in the economic aspect of cooperation. In addition, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin claimed that “in spite of the effect of the world financial crisis, the trade turnover with Jordan remains at the level of 400 million dollars in 2009”.
The forthcoming exhibition will undoubtedly add to the Russian-Jordanian cooperation through stimulation of new trade and economic relations including implementation of mutual projects in such areas as power industry, communication, telecommunications, radio engineering, peaceful use of nuclear power, machine building and other spheres of bilateral cooperation.
Within the framework of the exhibition Russia will display the latest achievements of the national industry and represent export products of Russian companies. I am convinced that the exhibition will be an important stage in the development of Russian-Jordanian cooperation, make a great contribution in business development and strengthen mutually beneficial relations between our countries.
Welcome again and good luck with your negotiations and business contacts for the sake of well-being and prosperity of our countries.
